Minnesota Government is back up and Running!
Gov. Mark Dayton and Department Secretary of State Mark Ritchie signed 12 tax and spending bills this morning around 9:00am to awaken Minnesota's Government!
Dayton admitted he was not entirely happy with the budget bills, but it was the best alternative to get the government running again. This should help the 22,000 laid off Minnesota employees get back to work!!

Survey says Real Estate Pros are more confident!
The University of Saint Thomas conducts a survey twice a year. Here is what those statistics showed.
They say the two core measurements for success in commercial real estate are vacancy rates and the price range rent landlords are able to charge. Because commercial real estate is completed slower than normal sales, professionals predict now about 12 to 24 months when an increase in optimism, occupancy, and rents.
The increase in occupancy and rent from last quarter was a 64.9 to a 71.4 increase.
The first indication of an improved economy is an increase in the demand for space. the report by Cassidy Turley indicated the Twin Cities metro's office vacancy rate fell in the first three months of the years from 19.3% to 18.8%. Downtown Minneapolis saw its vacancy rate drop from 17.9 to 17.2% over the same time period.
On the plus side, the Twin Cities added thousands of jobs over the past year. Its unemployment rate shrank from 8.2% in 2010 to a 6.8% in 2011! This makes Minnesota one of the nation's "bright spots" in terms of economic stability!

The Twin Cities were assigned to the 6th position in the real estate market according to Gathering Strength from Builder Online.
Theories say it is due to Minneapolis' housing industry including the medical atmosphere resulting in a higher median income rate. The median income for residents of the Twin Cities averaged $66,000. Predictions say the median will increase another 2% this year, making a marketed increase in pace over the last 7 years.

The World's 40 most expensive cities are located outside of the United States. The Top cities are located in Western Europe, Australia and Japan according to a report by Economist Intelligence Unit. Los Angeles came in at #41, Chicago came in at #44, but the most shocking is New York coming in at #49. Dublin, Ireland, and Tel Aviv.
The cost of living is not decreasing in the U.S, but the global index is calculated in dollar terms, therefore the weakness of the dollar makes other cities appear to be more expensive.
